There were a couple of surprise departures from our favourite celebrity reality shows over the weekend. First, John and Edward were eliminated from The X Factor after finding themselves in the bottom two with Olly Murs, and then kicked out by Dannii Minogue.

While Jedward’s oddly gimmick-free version of Boyzone’s No Matter What in the sing-off was arguably the most painful thing we’ve seen on television this year, it’s still somewhat shocking to see them go. And a little bit sad, too – while it’s fair to say it really should be a singing competition, X Factor won’t quite be the same without them. It’ll be interesting to see if the show’s incredible viewing figures take an immediate dive.

In the meantime, Murs, who has been a favourite with the bookies for several weeks now, finds himself now in third place, behind Stacey Solomon and new-favourite Joe McElderry. (You can still get the awful Lloyd Daniels at 33-1.)

Earlier this morning, it was announced that Katie Price, aka Jordan, had followed-through on her announcement that she was going to quit I’m A Celebrity, as she promptly walked out of the jungle. Price, who was facing a seventh-consecutive bushtucker trial as nominated by the British public, may now lose her reported £350,000 appearance fee, but added, “If I walk out, then I don’t need the money. Others in there do. I don’t. I’ve got money. I have just done a big book tour. This isn’t about the money anyway.”

As for John and Edward, they’ve allegedly been receiving career advice from none other than Susan Boyle, and have stated that they are up for ‘any challenge’.

Heaven help us all.

We have to admit, we were a bit sceptical at first. Before the hype, before the hysterical fans, before Robert Pattinson – the Twilight Saga seemed a bit Buffy-esque for our liking.

But now we’re hooked. We’re so swept away in the Twilight saga that here in the Models Own office we’re drawing our battle lines and buying our Team Edward or Team Jacob t-shirts. (Team Edward has the edge).

As New Moon hits cinemas today, all this Twilight talk has not only got us with our head in the books and queuing up for our New Moon tickets, but it seems to have inspired us in a fashion sense too.

There’s a fantastic review of our Gold Digger nail polish over at Helen And Sheenie’s Nice Things.

Gold Digger performed well. Two coats, and a light touch during application meant that brush strokes were few and far between. Rare for such an obvious metallic.

I think this would be the perfect partner to Illamasqua’s Solstice liquid metal and would also look amazing if you had a tan. I am planning on wearing this on holiday toes next year as I think it would look great against black sandals.
